You are not getting Barrie. Avs are keeping him Garth, they have 3 years of RFA control for him. It will come down to the wire, the 2 sides will agree on a 2 year deal, just move on from this.

I don't think he goes either, just he signs a 2 year deal at 6m per and they call it a day.

a kane for fowler trade dosen't make sense to me. fowler would be an upgrade from josh georges, but not a huge upgrade.

Sabres already have a need for top 6 LW, giving up kane would only add to that need.

If the sabres feel they must trade Kane, they should wait till the trade dead line and get a better deal.

The Sabers aren't doing anything new until August 21st. It will take Vesey at least a few days to meet with Boston and Toronto, a wild card team, maybe even upto a week after the 15th before that cat makes up his mind.

Then the Sabres will make a few moves. One could argue the Vesey gamble has cost us time to do other things, but maybe the whole league is in wait and see mode to what this guy does. He better be good with all this jazz.

Who wants a player like Kane in their dressing room? The jets didn't, and they weren't close to competing...the Sabres don't want him because he will spread his cancer to the rest of this very young corps.....so your solution is to trade him.....and get a top dman in the process.....hhhmmmm, Taylor hall just got the oilers Larson....and he was a proliphic scorer and a great guy in the dressing room. If you want to trade Kane....it's going to get you a washed up, over paid dman....start thinking along the lines of Phaneuf, Girardi, emelin.....and maybe not even that good.
